Director of YODOKO Guest House

01.Welcome to our tour!

YODOKO Guest House was designed by F. L. Wright, who came to Japan (1915-1922) in response to a design request from the Imperial Hotel, as a second house for the Yamamura family, a sake brewer in Nada, Kobe. Execution design and supervising were carried out by two disciples of Wright, Arata Endo and Makoto Minami, and the construction was carried out in 1923-1924.
This guided tour introduces the highlights of each floor with pictures and 360°panoramic views. Fully enjoy the world of Wright, a master architect.

Naoyoshi Shibata, Director of YODOKO Guest House

Appointed director of YODOKO Guest House in March 1998. Since then, he has gained a deeper understanding and respect for the architecture of Wright. In August 2001, he joined a tour of American architecture designed by Wright, hosted by the architect, Mr. Raku Endo. He visited Wright’s 13 flagship works in 10 days.
